Namaskar Friends, welcome to our website “StudyHardOdia”. Friends, as all you know that IAS exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). If someone told you that he/she is preparing for IAS exam that’s wrong, actually he/she is preparing for Civil Services Examination.
1.Qualification: All graduates can apply for this exam. If you have passed the degree exams with maximum marks like B.COM, B.Sc., BA, BCA, BBA etc. if you wants to work as IPS, IAS then you must be staying in India or if you wish to be IFS you may be the residents of other country there is no problem.
2.AGE: The age of the General Candidates to apply for the exam should be 21 years to 32, OBC Candidates age should be between 21 to 35 and SC,ST candidates age should be between 21years to 37 Years. Physically Challenged person can go for till attain the age of 42 while SC & ST can give the exam till they attain the age of 40.
3.ATTEMPTS: General Candidates can attempt for this exam only for Six times that means upto 32 years of age. SC/ST candidate have no limit to attempt the exam while OBC candidates can attempt 7 times up to the age 35. Now if you have applied for the exam and don’t go for it to attempt then it will be counted as one attempt.
4.EXAM PATTERN or Stages of Exams:
Prelims——- Mains——– Interview
Prelims: There are two papers in Prelims. Those are
1.General Studies
2.CSAT
Both of the paper consist of 200 marks each and the questions are different in both the papers. In first paper there are 100 questions while in 2nd paper there are only 50 questions. In this exam you can choose both Hindi and English language to give your answer that depends upon you.

Now the difference between these two papers is, in Paper 1 you have to get good marks to be selected for Main Exams but in 2nd Paper you just have to secure only 66 marks out of 200 that is 33%. It is changing time to time by the commission if they required to change.
